The film company RFG is to present its projects at the AFM film market
The next film event to be visited by the representatives of the film company RFG after the film market in Tokyo will be one of the largest film markets in the world – the American Film Market (AFM). This year it will be held November 5 – 12, in the city of Santa Monica, California. Annually thousands of film makers come to America from dozens of foreign countries to attend the AFM, which was founded in 1981. "Rock Climber" is to be distributed in China (magazine “Cinema Business Today”)
On June 17, 2008 the international department of the film company RFG sold the rights to the cinema distribution of the adventure motion picture “Rock Climber and the Last of the Seventh Cradle” in the People’s Republic of China. The corresponding agreement was concluded with Chinese company “Beijing Focus Cultural Media”. The first meeting of the Russian cinema businessmen from the RFG company with their colleagues from China took place at the film market in Hong Kong in March 2008. It was there that the screener of “Rock Climber” was shown to the distributors from China for the first time.

The RFG company’s projects at the film market in Tokyo
The film company RFG is going to present its projects at the international film market in Tokyo, TIFFCOM, which will be held within the framework of the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) from October the 22nd till October the 24th, 2008. You can find us in the exhibition hall, office 77. The Tokyo Film Festival has been held since 1985. And this year it will be the twenty first festival. The Tokyo Film Festival is considered to be included into the list of the top twenty largest international film festivals, where it occupies the eleventh position.

New international teaser of “Viy”: a new format, new characters
The film company RFG presents a new international teaser of the Russian blockbuster “Viy” (based on the book of the same title, written by Nikolai Gogol). The above mentioned teaser was specially prepared for screenings at the largest film markets, which are to take place in the near future: French MIPCOM, which is being held from October 13 till 17 in Cannes, Japanese TIFFCOM (Tokyo, October 22-24) and American AFM (Santa Monica, November 5-12).

The film company RFG will take part in the world’s largest audio and visual content exhibition MIPCOM
The film company RFG will present its projects at the international exhibition of the audio and visual content MIPCOM, which will be held in Cannes from October 13 till 17, 2008. MIPCOM is the world’s largest specialized exhibition, dedicated to the production, co-production, acquisition, sale, financing and distribution of the entertainment content on any platforms. Last year 4,585 companies from 105 countries of the world took part in the international exhibition of the audio and visual content MIPCOM.

“Viy” movie has become the best upcoming project at the “Moscow Premiere” film festival
On September 11, 2008 a soiree of upcoming projects took place within the framework of the VI Moscow Film Festival “Moscow Premiere”. The most highly anticipated motion pictures to be released in 2008 – 2009 were presented there. Actors Alexey Chadov, Agniya Ditkovskite, Olga Zaitseva and Anna Churina, as well as General Director of the “Karoprokat” movie company Peter Besedin presented the movie “Viy”. A ringing silence established in the theatre after the screening. Having recovered after their first impressions, the journalists bombarded the actors with questions.

“Viy” – the final stage of shooting
The film company RFG has started the final stage of shooting the movie “Viy”, based on the book of the same title, written by one of the most mystical writers of the 19th century N.V. Gogol. July 18 – 27, 2008 the most catching scenes of the movie will be shot in the sets (a XVIII century farm-stead in the Carpathians situated at a distance of 150 kilometers from Prague), specially constructed by the GATTEO Studio (Czech Republic). The production unit includes Czech film makers, who created a great number of Hollywood blockbusters: “Van Helsing”, “Underworld”, “The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc”, “The Brothers Grimm”, “Blade”, “The Bourne Identification”, “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” and others.

The film company RFG will attend the audio visual content market DISCOP
The film company RFG will attend the audio visual content market DISCOP, which will be held in the period of June 17 – 20, 2008 in Budapest, Hungary. The DISCOP was established in 1991 and today it is the largest market of this kind in Eastern and Central Europe. Besides, since 2005 the DISCOP has been a partner of American NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives), which unites producers, distributors and sellers of the TV content.

Drama movie “Snow Doesn’t Melt Forever...” will participate in the programme “Kinodebut.ru”
The film company RFG will present its new project – a Victoria Markina film “Snow Doesn’t Melt Forever...” – in a special programme “Kinodebut.ru”, which will take place within the framework of the 30th Moscow International Film Festival in the period of June 20 – 28, 2008. One of the main objectives of the “Kinodebut.ru” festival, at which the movie “Snow Doesn’t Melt Forever...” will be presented, is the creation of an association of young film makers, who not only can shoot movies, but protect their copy rights too. The Film Directors Guild of Russia has commenced on the implementation of this project at the time when more than 60 debut full-length motion pictures have been produced for the last two years.

“Viy” actor on the red carpet in Cannes
Russian actor Igor Jijikine, who had played one of the main roles in the movie “Viy” (Cossack Dorosh), was seen on the red carpet of the 61st Film Festival de Cannes. However, the reason of his appearance there was another adventure blockbuster: George Lucas and Steven Spielberg blockbuster “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. Igor Jijikine attended the premiere of the movie together with other members of the cast of this quadriquel – Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf and others.

The film company RFG will present its projects at the largest film market in the world “Marche Du Film”, which will take place within the framework of the 61st Film Festival de Cannes: May 14 to 25. Today the International Film Market in Cannes, which was set up in 1959, is one of the most important film events in the world’s cinema industry. More than 10,500 international participants attended the Azure Coast of France last year. 534 stands of film companies were presented at the market. This year the film company RFG will present not only its own projects, but also the ones, taken for international distribution. The number of the company’s stand is Riviera C7.

Actors at Moscow’s shooting of “Viy”
At present such actors as Olga Zaitseva, Alexey Ogurtsov, Alexander Karpov and Igor Jijikine are taking part in the shooting of the motion picture “Viy”. By the way, in this connection we would like to mention one peculiar detail: all the actors (except Olga Zaitseva) have had to resort to rather radically extreme measures: they had to cut their hair close to the skin (i.e. to become really bald), in order to look exactly like their characters.

Shooting “Viy” in Moscow
From March 16 till March 23, 2008 the film company RFG, assisted by the FX Design Group company, is being engaged in one of the most complicated periods of the filming of the international project “Viy” in the “Tsentrnauchfilm” studio. half, will be implemented through the images of monsters and vampires, born in the

The film company RFG will participate in the Hong Kong Film Market
The film company RFG will be taking part in the Hong Kong International Film Market, which will be held in Hong Kong from March 17 till March 20, 2008. For the last several years the Hong Kong Film Market has been rated as one of the largest film markets not only in Asia, but in the whole world as well. The number of participants (sellers and buyers) attending this film market is increasing every year: for example, in the year 2004 the number of buyers, registered at the Hong Kong Film Market, equalled two thousand, two hundred and eighty-six, and in the year 2007 more than four thousand buyers visited it.

Olga Aylarova has become the Head of the RFG International Department
On February 12, 2008 Olga Aylarova became the Head of the International Department of the film company RFG. Olga has been working for the company for about five years. She knows several foreign languages and visited international film markets as a representative of the film company RFG many times. These days she presents the company’s projects at the European Film Market in Berlin at the 58th International Berlin Film Festival.

Maxim Maximovitch has died
Maxim Maximovitch died February 4, in the evening. He was killed by some
unknown dregs. Maxim had neither enemies nor evil-wishers. And this fact
makes his tragic death even more sorrowful.
During the last five years Maxim Maximovitch worked as the head of the
international department of the film company RFG. Being a real
professional, he communicated with all the international partners of the
company and presented the RFG at all the international film markets and
cinematic events. These days he was getting ready for his next business
trip to the film markets in Berlin and Hong-Kong. Maxim’s death is not
only a loss of a colleague for us. First of all, it’s a loss of a great
personality, a close friend, who was colossally kind and charming. All
the workers of the film company RFG present their condolences to Maxim’s
family and close relatives. We mourn together with you!
