The book “Time for Rage” has been presented at a film market

Cover of the book

The book “Time for Rage” was presented at the 69 Russian International Film Market, which took place in Moscow December 5 - 8, 2006. This book served as the basis for the movie of the same name. The continuation of a high-speed action “Velvet Revolution” (2005) promises to become even more explosive and unpredictable. Just like in the first movie, though the contrast between the characters of the protagonists does not facilitate their dialogue, it makes their tandem indestructible. Being together, they are really dangerous for powerful drug syndicates. In the second movie the fight between the DEA officers and the world’s drug mafia reaches an absolutely new level.

The director’s cut of “Velvet revolution”

Velvet Revolution

The DVD with the director’s cut of “Velvet revolution” was released on June, 7 2006. The film lasts 4 hours, while the cinema version is only 2 hours long. It’s quite obvious that the standards of timing for release version are not enough to show all the finer points of the characters’ interplay. And those are the points which help to appreciate the idea of the film authors. Meanwhile some cinema reviewers note that 4-hour is just right time for the spectators allowing them to follow all the smallest plotlines and discover the trans-border drug dealers’ machinations.

Work on the movie “Viy” proceeds

Viy

The movie companies RFG (ROSPOfilm Group) and Step By Step Film in co-production with the Czech film company ANKOR-film continue to work on the mystical thriller “Viy” (based on the book of the same title written by N.V. Gogol). This motion picture is expected to become “the most scary Russian movie”. Oleg Stepchenko, the director of the movie, says the following about this new Russian project: “Imagine that there’s a place on the earth – a certain abnormal zone – where even the air is impregnated with evil spirits. At night all the people living there shed their outer coverings and transform into ugly monsters: different reptiles, chimeras, griffins. Their bodies are covered in fluff similar to the one of the newly born chickens. Even this incarnation makes them look awful like hell, and we can only guess what they will look like when they become fully fledged. Now imagine, that Providence has directed you into this cancer pesthole of the earth. That’s what I answer, when asked what the movie “Viy” is about”.
