Actors at Moscow’s shooting of “Viy”

At present such actors as Olga Zaitseva, Alexey Ogurtsov, Alexander Karpov and Igor Jijikine are taking part in the shooting of the motion picture “Viy”. By the way, in this connection we would like to mention one peculiar detail: all the actors (except Olga Zaitseva) have had to resort to rather radically extreme measures: they had to cut their hair close to the skin (i.e. to become really bald), in order to look exactly like their characters.

Other actors, such as People’s Artiste of Russia Valeriy Zolotukhin, People’s Artiste of Russia Nina Ruslanova, People’s Artiste of Russia Andrey Smolyakov, Alexey Chadov, Agniya Ditkovskite, Anna Churina, Yuri Tsurilo, Ivan Mokhovikov, Anatoliy Gustchin, Alexander Yakovlev, Alexey A. Petrukhin, Oleg Taktarov and others are to join the production unit at the end of July, when the another stage of the filming of the movie “Viy” starts in Prague.

In this connection it would be very interesting to watch Igor Jijikine at the premiere of the fourth “Indiana Jones” (“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”) – the movie, in which he played one of the leading roles, – since he will have to appear there shaved close to the skin, because of being engaged in the shooting of “Viy” as an actor.
