Russian actor Igor Jijikine, who had played one of the main roles in the movie “Viy” (Cossack Dorosh), was seen on the red carpet of the 61st Film Festival de Cannes. However, the reason of his appearance there was another adventure blockbuster: George Lucas and Steven Spielberg blockbuster “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. Igor Jijikine attended the premiere of the movie together with other members of the cast of this quadriquel – Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf and others.

In his interview, given to the Russian newspaper “Trud” (“Labour”), Igor Jijikine, who had played the role of colonel Dovchenko in this movie, said that 99% of all the stunts he and Harrison Ford had performed on their own. However, Igor suffered some injuries. For example, 66 years old Harrison Ford dislocated Igor’s jaw twice. In addition to that the Russian actor hurt his elbow and had a surgery on his broken meniscus during the process of filming. However, by the next stage of shooting “Viy”, which took place this year in March in Moscow, Igor Jijikine had completely recovered.
