“Viy” movie has become the best upcoming project at the “Moscow Premiere” film festival

On September 11, 2008 a soiree of upcoming projects took place within the framework of the VI Moscow Film Festival “Moscow Premiere”. The most highly anticipated motion pictures to be released in 2008 – 2009 were presented there.

Actors Alexey Chadov, Agniya Ditkovskite, Olga Zaitseva and Anna Churina, as well as General Director of the “Karoprokat” movie company Peter Besedin presented the movie “Viy”. A ringing silence established in the theatre after the screening. Having recovered after their first impressions, the journalists bombarded the actors with questions. They were interested in everything: what is more frightful – to watch the movie or to act in it? Was the make up very complicated? In what way the creators of the movie are planning to promote it? Alexey Chadov: “Our make up was truly complicated and looked very real. In general, the entire properties were so genuine, that we wanted to touch everything, to play with all the props. Just imagine the buttons, the clothes, the weapons of the XVIII century! There is lot of complicated computer graphics and stunts in the movie, that is why the process is very difficult, but very interesting”.

The soiree of upcoming projects was concluded with the voting of the audience for the best presentation of the project. All those, who were present at the event: journalists, actors, film critics and mere film goers – had a chance of voting for the most interesting picture. After summing up the results of the voting, the jury showed preference for the movie “Viy”. This very project has become the most anticipated and dimensioned premiere of the next year. The audience and journalists will be already able to evaluate the new picture in spring 2009.
